Badgerland Books, LLC was founded in 2003 by former Bucky Badger mascot Joe Martino (1988-2002). The main focus of starting the company was to engage children in a series of stories and adventures by the most famous and beloved mascot in the land - Bucky Badger.
Letter From the Founder
As many fans and graduates will testify the University of Wisconsin-Madison is one of the best universities in the world. One of the things that make the UW-Madison great is the embodiment of its spirit - our mascot Buckingham U. Badger. While serving as the mascot I saw the best qualities in the residents and the fans of the state of Wisconsin and the UW. The spirit of Bucky is more than is visible on the field at Camp Randall or at the Kohl Center, I have seen first hand how many people and children love Bucky and are proud to be from Wisconsin because of our spirit, work ethic and academics achievement. I consider myself privileged to put my name next to many that have gone before me who served as the mascot and are residents of Wisconsin that made contributions to better our world. I hope to retrieve the names and addresses of all those who have served as the mascot in an attempt to give them recognition for their volunteer service and love for the university and the state. I hope to make a difference in children's lives sick and healthy and Badger fans young and old.

Mission Statements
Badgerland Books, LLC will:
- provide quality children's stories to teach children values and life lessons.
- donate a portion of the proceeds of the sale of its books to children orientated charities in the name of Bucky Badger.
- enhance the legend of Bucky Badger to round out the character and image of the most famous mascot in the world.
- act as an alumni association for former mascot volunteers past and present. www.uwbucky.com
- support the UW -Madison spirit squad and specifically the Bucky Badger program and its needs.
